"John my father (Vern) bought the rink in 1952 from a man named Howard Peterson. The rink was built in the mid to late 40, some of the rinks parts came from a portable rink that my father's brother had, the original floor was from a portable rink and it was maple the floor back then made to be put together also the skate counter. Yes, the rink had windows on the sides that opened up they were 10x4 feet and there were screens that covered the windows when they were opened to keep the bugs out. The windows were propped open. The outhouses were before our time. The windows were still being used when my brother sold it in the year 2000. Anything else you would like to know let me know. This is the last skate of the night.
